Luis Alberto Urrea
Luis Alberto Urrea is a prolific and acclaimed Mexican-American author, poet, and essayist known for his work exploring themes of love, loss, and the complexities of the U.S.-Mexico border. Born in Tijuana to a Mexican father and an American mother, his cross-cultural upbringing deeply influences his writing. He is a professor of creative writing at the University of Illinois Chicago and has received numerous honors, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and an American Academy of Arts and Letters Award.
