Maria Keogh Semple is an American novelist and screenwriter. Born in Santa Monica, California, she began her career writing for television shows such as Beverly Hills, 90210, Saturday Night Live, Ellen, and Arrested Development. She is best known for her bestselling novel Where'd You Go, Bernadette, which was adapted into a major motion picture.
