Jan Boyer Wahl (1931–2019) was a prolific and celebrated American children's author known for his imaginative, witty, and emotionally intelligent stories. Over a career spanning more than five decades, he published over 120 books, many of which were illustrated by renowned artists such as Maurice Sendak, Edward Gorey, and Norman Rockwell. Beyond his writing, he was a dedicated film historian and educator.
