Michel Quint is a French novelist and playwright born in 1949 in Leforest, Pas-de-Calais. He initially wrote for the stage and radio before transitioning to crime fiction. He gained international acclaim for his novel 'Effroyables jardins' (published in English as 'In Our Strange Gardens'), a semi-autobiographical work inspired by his father's experiences in the French Resistance during World War II, which was adapted into a feature film.
