Judith Byron "Judy" Schachner is an American children's author and illustrator, best known for her #1 New York Times bestselling Skippyjon Jones series. Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, she graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art in 1973. Before focusing on children's books, she worked as a greeting card designer for Hallmark. Her work is known for its whimsical, expressive illustrations and imaginative storytelling, often inspired by her own life, family, and pets.
