Gabriel Alborozo

Gabriel Alborozo is an English author and illustrator known for his children's picture books. Born in Northampton in 1972, he is the son of a journalist mother and a painter father. Alborozo is largely self-taught as an artist, though he was encouraged by established cartoonists. He began contributing cartoons to publications like Private Eye and Punch at age 15. His work is characterized by economical yet exuberant draughtsmanship, drawing inspiration from artists like Gerard Hoffnung and Jean-Jacques Sempé. Alborozo has also worked as an archaeological illustrator and produced background paintings for animated features. His passion lies in illustrating for children, aiming to bring joy and humor to their reading experiences. He has published numerous picture books in English and French, some of which he has also written himself. Alborozo is based in London.
