Elie Wiesel was a Romanian-born American writer, professor, political activist, and Holocaust survivor. He is best known for his memoir 'Night', which recounts his experiences as a prisoner in the Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps. A Nobel Peace Prize laureate, he dedicated his life to human rights activism, Holocaust education, and the fight against indifference.
