Dr. Kathleen Joan Reichs (born July 7, 1948) is an American forensic anthropologist, academic and bestselling crime novelist. She is the author of the Temperance Brennan series (beginning with Déjà Dead) and co-author of the YA Virals series. Reichs has worked on forensic cases internationally, taught at multiple universities, served on professional forensic boards, and was a producer/consultant for the television series Bones, which was inspired by her work.
