Chigozie Obioma

Chigozie Obioma is a Nigerian novelist and professor, born in Akure, Nigeria, in 1986. He is widely recognized for his novels 'The Fishermen' (2015), 'An Orchestra of Minorities' (2019), and 'The Road to the Country' (2024). His work has earned him significant international acclaim, including multiple Booker Prize nominations, and he has been named one of Foreign Policy's 100 Leading Global Thinkers. He currently serves as the Helen S. Lanier Distinguished Professor of English and Creative Writing at the University of Georgia and is the program director of the Oxbelly Fiction Writers retreat.
