Margriet Ruurs

Margriet Ruurs is an award-winning Dutch-Canadian author of over thirty books for children. Born in the Netherlands in 1952, she immigrated to Canada in 1977. She holds a Master of Education degree from Simon Fraser University and is passionate about literacy, often conducting author visits and writing workshops at schools internationally. She is also known for creating the online magazine KidsWWWrite and for her work as a bed and breakfast operator on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.
