Téa Obreht is a Serbian-American novelist and short story writer. Born in Belgrade, she lived in Cyprus and Egypt before immigrating to the United States at age twelve. She gained international acclaim with her debut novel, The Tiger's Wife, which won the 2011 Orange Prize for Fiction. Her work often explores themes of folklore, history, and the relationship between place and identity.
