S. P. Somtow

S. P. Somtow (born Somtow Papinian Sucharitkul) is a Thai-American author, composer, and conductor. Born in Bangkok and educated at Eton and Cambridge, he initially pursued a career in music before achieving international recognition as a novelist in the fields of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. He is well known for his novel 'Vampire Junction' and his semi-autobiographical work 'Jasmine Nights'. In the 21st century, he returned to Thailand, where he founded the Bangkok Opera and continues to be active in both literature and classical music.
