Brad Ricca is an award-winning American author, poet, filmmaker, and academic from Cleveland, Ohio. He earned his Ph.D. in English from Case Western Reserve University and teaches in the SAGES program and at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Ricca is best known for narrative biographies and popular history works including Super Boys (a literary biography of Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster), Mrs. Sherlock Holmes, Olive the Lionheart, True Raiders, and Ten Days in a Mad-House. He has produced the documentary Last Son and has appeared as a commentator on NPR, the BBC, and in documentary programming. His work has won or been nominated for awards including the Ohioana Book Award, the St. Lawrence Book Award, and an Edgar Award nomination.
