Mary Watson

Mary Watson (born 31 May 1975) is a South African author known for short stories and novels. She won the Caine Prize for African Writing in 2006 and was named to the Africa39 list in 2014. Her works include the short-story collection Moss and novels such as The Cutting Room, The Wren Hunt, The Wickerlight and Blood to Poison. Trained in creative writing at the University of Cape Town and the University of Bristol, she has also worked as a lecturer and lives in Galway, Ireland.
