Daniela Petrova is a Bulgarian‑American novelist and essayist. Born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria, she emigrated to New York after the fall of communism. Her debut novel, Her Daughter's Mother (Putnam, 2019), is a critically acclaimed psychological suspense novel; her shorter nonfiction and fiction have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, LA Review of Books, Marie Claire and elsewhere. She holds a BA in Philosophy from Columbia University and an MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University and lives in New York City.
