Sharon Butala

Sharon Butala (born Sharon Annette LeBlanc in 1940 in Nipawin, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian novelist and non-fiction writer known for works that explore prairie life, nature and spirituality. She began publishing in the 1980s after moving to a ranch near Eastend, Saskatchewan; her output includes novels, memoirs and nature essays. She has been shortlisted multiple times for the Governor General's Award and has received numerous honours for literature and conservation. She has lived in Saskatchewan and later Calgary, Alberta.
