Simu Liu (born April 19, 1989) is a Chinese-born Canadian actor, writer, stunt performer and producer. He rose to international prominence for starring as the title character in Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) and wrote the 2022 memoir "We Were Dreamers: An Immigrant Superhero Origin Story," which recounts his family's immigrant experience and his path from accounting to acting. Liu is also known for his role on the CBC sitcom Kim's Convenience and for public advocacy on representation and anti-Asian hate.
