Mary C. Neal, M.D. is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon and New York Times bestselling author. In 1999 she experienced a near-death event while kayaking in Chile and later wrote about the experience in To Heaven and Back and 7 Lessons from Heaven. She trained at UCLA School of Medicine, completed orthopedic residency at the University of Southern California, has held the position of Director of Spine Surgery at USC, and is a founding partner of Orthopedic Associates of Jackson Hole. Dr. Neal is an inspirational speaker, has appeared on national media, has served on non-profit boards, and lives with her family in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
