Alan J. Wright

Alan J. Wright (born in Wigan, 1951) is a British author known for historical crime fiction set in the Victorian era. A graduate of Leeds University, he taught English in secondary schools and later worked as a Secondary Consultant for the Graduate Teacher Programme. He has written novels and musical plays; his historical mystery Act of Murder (published by Birlinn/Polygon in 2010) was shortlisted for the Crime Writers' Association Debut Dagger Award in 2009. He lives in the UK, is married with three grown children, and has a strong interest in Victorian history and culture.
