Jan Ormerod (born Janet Louise Hendry) was an Australian children's book author and illustrator known for spare, accessible illustrations and wordless or minimally-worded picture books. She published more than fifty books during her career, including Sunshine, Lizzie Nonsense, and Shake a Leg, and won awards such as the Mother Goose Award and IBBY Honour. Her work often drew on childhood memories of Western Australia and featured clear compositions and flat colour palettes.
