E. V. Thompson
Ernest Victor (E. V.) Thompson (14 July 1931 – 19 July 2012) was an English author best known for historical novels set largely in Cornwall. A former Royal Navy serviceman and police officer, he moved to Cornwall in 1970 to write full-time and published over 40 books. His work often draws on local lore and landscape; his novel Chase the Wind received recognition as a notable historical novel. He was appointed MBE in the 2012 New Year Honours for services to literature and the community in Cornwall.
