Eric Robert Walters (born March 3, 1957) is a prolific Canadian author of children’s and young adult fiction and picture books. A former elementary school teacher, Walters began writing to engage reluctant readers and has since published dozens of novels (over 70–100+ titles across career), many of which tackle complex social issues. He is co-founder of the charity Creation of Hope, which supports orphans in Kenya, and was named a Member of the Order of Canada in 2014 for his contributions to children’s literature.
