Jesse Thistle is a Métis-Cree author, historian and academic from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He is best known for his bestselling 2019 memoir From the Ashes, which recounts his experiences with addiction, homelessness, and reclaiming Métis identity, and for his subsequent writing and academic work on Indigenous history and homelessness in Canada.
