Kate Morton

Kate Morton (born 19 July 1976) is an Australian novelist known for bestselling gothic and historical novels that blend family secrets, multiple timelines and atmospheric settings. Her books include The House at Riverton, The Forgotten Garden, The Distant Hours, The Secret Keeper, The Lake House, The Clockmaker's Daughter and Homecoming. Morton's novels have been translated into many languages and have been international bestsellers. She holds qualifications from Trinity College London and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and completed a first-class honours degree in English Literature at the University of Queensland.
