William Nicholson
William Benedict Nicholson (born 12 January 1948) is a British screenwriter, playwright and novelist. He worked for BBC Television as a documentary filmmaker before moving into television drama, stage and film. Nicholson is known for children's and young-adult fiction (including the Wind on Fire trilogy), as well as screenplays and adaptations such as Shadowlands and contributions to Gladiator and Les Misérables. He has received awards for both his fiction and screenwriting and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
