Edith Pargeter (Ellis Peters)

Edith Mary Pargeter (writing as Ellis Peters) was an English author best known for the medieval mystery series featuring Brother Cadfael. She wrote novels, translations, poems and short stories across a range of genres, but achieved lasting fame for blending historical fiction with mystery and crime. Her Cadfael novels are credited with popularizing the historical mystery subgenre.
