A former financial analyst and attorney, she earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Her novels — including All Is Not Forgotten, Emma in the Night, The Night Before, Don't Look for Me, and What Remains — have been translated widely, topped bestseller lists, been featured in prominent book clubs (including Reese's Book Club), and have been optioned for television and film. She lives in Connecticut.
