Michael Charles Tobias
Michael Charles Tobias (born June 27, 1951) is an American author, environmentalist, anthropologist, mountaineer and filmmaker. He has written numerous books and produced documentary films on conservation, ecology, and related social issues, and is known for works such as World War III: Population and the Biosphere at the End of the Millennium and the novelization Voice of the Planet (based on the TBS series). Tobias has also been active in wildlife preservation and environmental advocacy and has received honors including the Courage of Conscience Award.
