Wm. Paul Young (born May 11, 1955) is a Canadian author best known for the bestselling novel The Shack. Raised by missionary parents in the highlands of what is now West Papua (then Netherlands New Guinea), Young spent much of his childhood among the Dani people. The Shack was originally self-published through Windblown Media and later became a New York Times bestseller; his other works include Cross Roads, Eve, and Lies We Believe About God. He lives with his family in the Pacific Northwest and writes primarily on themes of faith, forgiveness and relationship with God.
