Ruta Sepetys
Ruta Sepetys is a Lithuanian-American author of historical fiction, best known for novels that illuminate lesser-known episodes of twentieth-century history. A #1 New York Times bestselling and Carnegie Medal-winning writer, her books (including Between Shades of Gray, Salt to the Sea, and The Fountains of Silence) are published in dozens of countries and translated into many languages. Born in Michigan to a Lithuanian refugee, she holds a B.S. in International Finance from Hillsdale College and lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
