Eleanor Stackhouse Atkinson

Eleanor Stackhouse Atkinson (January 7, 1863 – November 4, 1942) was an American writer, journalist and teacher. Born in Rensselaer, Indiana, she worked as a teacher and as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune (writing under the pen name Nora Marks) before publishing fiction. She is best known for her 1912 novel Greyfriars Bobby, a sentimental/children's tale based on the famous story of the loyal Skye terrier in Edinburgh.
