
Wilbur Smith
Wilbur Addison Smith (9 January 1933 – 13 November 2021) was a Northern Rhodesian–born British–South African novelist best known for sprawling adventure and historical fiction set largely in Africa. He gained early success with When the Lion Feeds and went on to write numerous bestselling series (notably the Courtney and Ballantyne sagas). His work has been translated into many languages and optioned for screen adaptations.
