Darren Shan (born Darren O'Shaughnessy) is an Irish author best known for his young-adult horror and fantasy series, including The Saga of Darren Shan (Cirque Du Freak), The Demonata, and Zom-B. He published his first adult novel in 1999 and his breakout children’s/YA work began with Cirque du Freak in 2000. Shan's books have sold millions of copies worldwide and have been adapted for film and other media. He lives in Limerick, Ireland.
