George Edward Stanley

George Edward Stanley (July 15, 1942 – February 7, 2011) was an American author and university professor best known for middle-grade children’s fiction. He created the Spinetinglers series (published under the house name M.T. Coffin), wrote the Third-Grade Detectives and Scaredy Cats series, and contributed numerous standalone children’s mystery and horror books. He taught African and Middle Eastern languages and linguistics at Cameron University and was inducted into the Oklahoma Writers Hall of Fame.
