Susan Fromberg Schaeffer

Susan Fromberg Schaeffer (March 25, 1940 – August 26, 2011) was an American novelist, poet, and longtime professor of English. She published fourteen novels, multiple volumes of poetry, short stories and children's books, and was known for psychologically acute fiction addressing war, identity and suffering — notably Buffalo Afternoon (1989). She taught at Brooklyn College for over thirty years and later served as a visiting professor at the University of Chicago.
